I feel honored and very grateful for this blog feature by the talented Silent James… thank you James!!! silentjames: Enough About Me Monday #1- Jade Kuei, Mumbot Jade Kuei is an extraordinary person, friend, Mum & artist. I met her while I was in high school, she was the biggest inspiration at a very important time. I was deciding what to do with my life, here she was- living in the city, going to art school, getting art jobs & learning Kung Fu. It all seemed possible. We ran into each other years later at a Gorillaz concert in NYC, which was fortunate because I didn’t have contact with her for a while. Since then, we have kept in touch, she has created some of the best artwork I have ever seen. My favorites being the pieces posted above. I bought Bat Boy, it is the first artwork I have ever bought. I look at it everyday, I love it. I love the whole portrait series, I wish I owned them all. I imagine a hallowed hall of portraits. She made amazing brooches out of most of these pieces & they sold like crazy! I’ve been to many of her art openings and had the honor to meet… her son Everest! A very, very cool kid. Enough About Me Monday #1- Jade Kuei, Mumbot

Jade Kuei is an extraordinary person, friend, Mum & artist. I met her while I was in high school, she was the biggest inspiration at a very important time. I was deciding what to do with my life, here she was- living in the city, going to art school, getting art jobs & learning Kung Fu. It all seemed possible.
